Dismissal Obtained For Netherlands Company Based On Personal Jurisdiction

Attorney
Joshua D. Yeager

Practice Area
Product Liability

Plaintiff (a large dairy farm located in California) filed suit in California asserting that several Defendants designed, manufactured, and/or sold allegedly defective milking robots that the Plaintiff purchased to increase productivity and efficiency at its dairy farm. The Plaintiff argued that the dairy farm suffered significant economic losses due to the allegedly defective milking robots. Josh Yeager represented a component part manufacturer located in The Netherlands that manufactured some of the component parts incorporated into the milking robots. Josh obtained a dismissal on behalf of his client by arguing that the California court could not constitutionally assert personal jurisdiction because his client did not have sufficient contacts with the State of California.
