Neither Dutch Nor Malaysian Defendants Were Subject To Personal Jurisdiction In Maine Arising Out Of Warehouse Fire

Ed Siegert obtained dismissals for his Dutch and Malaysian clients in a product liability case filed in federal court in Maine. Barrels of capric acid were shipped from Malaysia to Pennsylvania, and were thereafter transported to Maine by other parties. The District Court agreed that Maine lacked personal jurisdiction over the Dutch and Malaysian defendants. (Tom’s of Maine v. Acme-Hardesty Co., 565 F. Supp.2d 171 (D.Me 2008)).
