In Lotus et al v. Pesavento, Brian Shaughnessy represented the defendant driver of an automobile that was rear ended and pushed across the centerline of a two-lane road. The defendant subsequently collided with a vehicle in the opposite lane of traffic resulting in serious, permanent orthopedic injuries to the other driver and the death of her passenger. Plaintiffs contended that the defendant was negligent for failing to properly maintain his vehicle by having his wheels tune din the direction of the on coming lane and not having his hands on the steering wheel of his car, causing the accident. At trial plaintiffs asked the jury to return a verdict against the defendant in excess of $2,000,000. Through the testimony of the driver of the auto that rear-ended our client’s car, Brian’s client and a witness, Brian was able to prevail as the jury returned its verdict in favor of our client and against plaintiffs.
