Case Dismissed With Prejudice Based On Defense Expert Opinions

In Lafata v. Rossett Electric et al our client was a subcontractor hired to install overhead lighting in an office complex parking lot. A Rossett Electric crew was digging out an area for the installation of a light pole when they cut an electric line. Plaintiff was working in an office in the complex. She asserted that she was working at her computer when our client cut the line, resulting in her receiving an electric shock through the computer keys. Mrs. Lafata claimed a serious and permanent brain injury as a result of the incident. Working with an expert, Brian Shaughnessy developed evidence that proved that plaintiff could not have received an electric shock through her computer keyboard as claimed. Plaintiff subsequently voluntarily dismissed the case.
